– Digital Tempus today announced an agreement with VeriSign
to promote the integration of VeriSign® Retail Data Services with Digital Tempus
On Demand Services, such as Demand Forecasting.
With timely and granular historical retail data, including Point-of-Sale
(POS) data from VeriSign, manufacturers can automatically and accurately assess
promotional impacts, evaluate the future sales potential of new items, and forecast
everyday demand.
“Manufacturers are continuously challenged
to enhance the customer experience in each and every store”, said Dirk Liebich,
Digital Tempus’ President and Chief Technology Officer.
“The combination of VeriSign Retail Data Services and Digital Tempus On Demand
Services provides the accessibility and scale to execute faster planning and innovation
cycles with targeted geographic, demographic and retail markets in mind.”
VeriSign Retail Data Services can be
integrated as an advanced information service connection in the Digital Tempus Business
Intelligence Network. VeriSign provides
the industry leading platform that enables global sharing of POS and RFID data for
more than 120 consumer products manufacturers and over 30 retailers.
Users of the Digital Tempus BI Network can select VeriSign as the source
of this information, which is then processed
by Digital Tempus On Demand Analysis
Services to produce accurate store-level or aggregate forecasts, including promotional
analysis and baseline forecasts. Digital
Tempus analysis services are also published as web services that can be integrated
into the network data flow between retailer and manufacturer to add forecasts to
historical data streams.
“Manufacturers are approaching retail
data strategically across their critical mass of retail relationships and leveraging
new ways to simplify the analysis of data for sales and marketing teams”, said Jeff
Richards, Vice President of VeriSign Intelligent Supply Chain Services.
“Our agreement with Digital Tempus is a great example of how demand forecasting
and business intelligence tools can use real-time, granular information to enhance
business performance.”
